Frank Chen grew up in Northeast Portland and spent his early career as an apprentice under veteran master electrician Don Hartley, learning the trade on old Craftsman bungalows and mid-century ranch homes that make up so much of Portland's residential stock. He earned his journeyman license in 1998 and his master electrician license in 2001.
In 2003, Frank launched Bright Wire Electric with a single van and a commitment to do things right — no shortcuts, no code violations, no work he wouldn't be proud to stand behind. Twenty-three years later, Bright Wire has grown to a team of eight licensed electricians, but Frank still personally reviews every estimate and stays available by phone to any client who has a question.
